Employee Spotlight:
Joan Smith
Sometimes, We Just Get Lucky...
There are, literally, millions of resumes out on the Monster job board
on any given day. Recruiters spend hours refining searches and reviewing
work histories to find just the right candidates. And sometimes they get
lucky…really lucky.
This month we are shining our Employee Spotlight on Joan Smith whose
resume was one of those millions out on Monster back in 2005 when one of
our recruiters was lucky enough to find her. A true professional with
over 20 years of experience in HRIS systems, health & welfare and
pension administration with John Hancock Financial Services in Boston,
Joan was a perfect candidate to add to our contractor pool.
Since then, Joan has successfully completed several contract assignments
for BENETEMPS’
clients, performing everything from customer service during open
enrollment periods to processing backlogged death claims for a pension
plan. She is currently placed at a Boston non-profit organization
processing vendor bills and performing benefits administration during a
staff shortage.
“The thing I like about contracting right now is the variety of working
in different places and learning different things” says Joan. “I can
bring in my experience to help out, but I learn new things during
assignments too”
Joan isn’t just busy working for BENETEMPS.
In addition to her career as a benefits professional, Joan has served in
the US Army Reserves for the last 20 years. As a Sergeant First Class,
Joan specializes in the transport of military equipment and her unit
deployed to Kuwait for 9 months between 2007-2008 (her third
mobilization since the start of the Iraq War in 2003).
As you can imagine, Joan’s experiences both in the benefits department
and in the Reserves have contributed to her development into a superior
professional and great person in general. "Joan has been an absolute
pleasure to work with over the years,” says Brenda Tringali, one of the
Staffing Consultants Joan has worked closely with at BENETEMPS.
“She has a tremendous skill set and a personality that makes her a
favorite among our clients. She has a positive attitude, works as a team
player, and is willing to roll up her sleeves to do whatever she can for
the client.”
“Joan brought a tremendous organizational skill to the project”
according to one of her BENETEMPS
client supervisors, “She approached each task asked of her with
efficiency and dedication”.
We are not only lucky to have found Joan, but we are proud to have her
as a member of the BENETEMPS
Team! Thank you, Joan for all your wonderful contributions to BENETEMPS’
success!
